Villanova drops out of the AP Men’s Basketball Poll

NCAA Basketball: La Salle at Villanova Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

Following Villanova’s loss to Temple on Friday, the Wildcats (1-1) were dropped out of the most recent AP Men’s Basketball Poll release on Monday. This marks the first time since Week 17 (February 25th) of the 2019 season that ‘Nova is unranked.

Villanova still has not played a game in the 2022-23 season with Cam Whitmore (thumb) and Justin Moore (achilles), two starters who have an incredible ability to make an impact on games.

The top 5 remains unchanged with North Carolina, Gonzaga, Houston, Kentucky, and Baylor at the top of the nation’s poll.

The BIG EAST has Creighton at #10 and UConn at #25. Villanova (#28) and Xavier are also receiving votes.

Villanova next takes to the court on Monday when they host Delaware State at the Pavilion. Tipoff is set for 6:30p and will be broadcast on FS2.
