BIG EAST Basketball Preview, week 13: TV Schedule, What To Watch For

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

A few points.

Creighton is on the rise. Well, 9th place still isn't acceptable, but it's a lot better than the position they were in a few weeks ago. That either speaks to their improvement or Marquette's failure.

Seton Hall is not coming back. Even with their talent, Coach Kevin Willard is unable to keep a lid on his team. They were ranked a few weeks ago, but now it seems like they'll be lucky with an NIT bid.

St. John's is for real now. They've won three straight and can look to break into the top 4 in the conference. D`Angelo Harrison is averaging close to 20 PPG.

DePaul and Creighton have the same record.

Games of the Day

Monday

Seton Hall vs. Villanova

A game for revenge. Due to the Pirates' recent struggles- struggles being an understatement- a win means a lot less and a loss means A LOT more. Even so, this will be the first time Villanova faces Isaiah Whitehead, so he has the potential to have a big game. Angel Delgado is going to be someone to keep an eye on, too.

Wednesday

Xavier vs. Cincinnati

I'm always excited for out-of-conference games, and this one will be a good one. The Bearcats are 17-8 and 8-5 in the American Athletic Conference. Scoring is a huge issue for Cincinnati: They are 313th in the nation in PPG and their leading scorer Troy Caupain averages 10.0 PPG. With an atmosphere like the Crosstown Shootout's, however, anything is possible.

Saturday

Butler vs. Xavier

This could be Butler's last chance to salvage first place. Assuming Villanova can handle Marquette, a Butler loss would mean the Bulldogs fall 3 GB or 4 GB of Villanova in the conference standings. The Cintas Center may not be too kind to the `Dogs.
