I want to start out by apologizing for not making these preview earlier. The past two seasons I've done this in the non-conference part of the schedule, however I had my hands full with other senior-year tasks. But no excuses.
Sooooo, we are back. And this conference is looking better than it ever has.
Providence and Villanova are looking hella fine. `Nova is shooting 65% in their first two Big East games which is #good. Providence edged Butler to pick up a tough road win. The trio of Kris Dunn, Ben Bentil and Randy Bullock average over 14 PPG and 6 RPG each, and Dunn throws in 7.3 assist each outing. These two teams look to run away with the conference.
Seton Hall and Georgetown are also 2-0 so far, but that will happen if you play DePaul and Marquette.
Where do I start with Marquette? They've been disappointing enough that their basketball Twitter account has been talking about Jimmy Butler more than anything. Big expectations for this team as they entered the season with No. 5 overall recruit Henry Ellenson, and entered conference play on a 9-game win streak. In both their Big East losses, they shot under 40% and were badly outrebounded. Things will only get tougher as three of their next four games are against ranked foes.
Seton Hall gave DePaul the opportunity to not DePaul the game away but DePaul was persistent and the DePaul'd themselves to 0-2.
St. John's is on a five game losing streak. I have less faith in them than DePaul. Chris Mullin will have to blow us away in the next few years with recruiting to make up for this horrible start, but who knows if he'll even last a few years...
Butler is 0-2 as well, but they have played Providence (12) and Xavier (6). It'll probably get better from here.
Let's look at the week ahead.

Games of the Day
Georgetown vs. Creighton
This game is the most evenly matched of the day. Creighton struggled from beyond the arc (5-23) against Villanova and Geoffrey Groselle, who is shooting 75.3%, only attempted one field goal. These are the major keys to success against Creighton
Seton Hall vs. Villanova
Did you expect me NOT to pick the greatest Big East matchup ever? Plus it'll be closer that Xavier at St. John's, unless Desi Rodriguez is benched against the `Cats for his choice words with Coach Willard in the first half of SHU's game against DePaul.
Kevin Willard said he hasn't decided if Desi Rodriguez will play Wednesday against Villanova. #hallin— Zach Braziller (@NYPost_Brazille) January 2, 2016
St. John's vs. Marquette
I need to see which team is simply going through a rough patch and which team should tank for Ben Simmons.
Enjoy this Vine I made.
