BIG EAST Basketball Preview: TV Schedule, What To Watch For

NCAA Basketball: Wake Forest at Xavier Frank Victores-USA TODAY Sports

Well, it was going to happen eventually.

In the last week we saw Villanova suffer their first loss of the season, only to rebound with a win at home over Marquette. Xavier now sits in first place in the conference.

This makes the Xavier-Villanova matchup on Tuesday night a battle for first place. The Wildcats will host the Musketeers in their first game on campus of 2017, however the students will not yet be back.

Butler got a scare later in the week vs. Georgetown, but the Hoyas’ defense didn’t bother to show up in overtime as they gave up 17 points to lose by 9.

Georgetown is now 0-4 and in last place in the Big East.

Let me repeat that: Georgetown is 0-4. DePaul is 0-3. So Georgetown is BELOW DePaul in the standings. 10TH PLACE.

No other big surprises in the conference this past week. The Wildcats take on another ranked school in-conference in Xavier, then travel to MSG to face St. John’s.

Xavier takes on Butler later in the week, and Hinkle definitely has the toughest atmosphere in the entire world to play a road game. That is not a biased opinion.
