What to watch for this week in the Big East

Feels go to be back-to-back-to-back-to-back Regular Season Champions, doesn’t it?

After falling to Butler at home and breaking the incredible winning streak at the Pavilion, Villanova took care of business against Creighton to secure a 1-seed in the Big East Tournament.

The Bulldogs finished the week 2-0 with the latter win coming at Xavier. Chris Holtmann’s success this season has caught national attention.

I share this point because it’s ridiculous to think he’d leave Butler for the FAILING NC State.

Wednesday night blessed us with two other road upsets; Providence topped Creighton and DEPAUL beat Georgetown.

Hoyas fans are more than fed up with the repeated underwhelming output of JTIII, and it’s reached Snapchat. Georgetown fans created a snap filter calling for their coach to be canned.

G’Town then dropped a game at St. John’s on Saturday.

There is currently a four-way tie for 4th place in the conference between Providence, Seton Hall, Xavier and Marquette. The number three through eight teams in the standings are separated by just 2 games. Remember the 7th-10th place schools must play an extra game in the conference tournament.

Enjoy the last week of the regular season. While Villanova has its place locked up, there’s still lots of excitement throughout the rest of the Big East!
