With Zayden High (Spring Branch, Texas/Compass Prep) officially off the market and North Carolina-bound, that leaves the Villanova Wildcats still on the search for their first 2023 commit.
While they officially have an offer out for D.J. Wagner (Camden, N.J./Camden), stemming from when Jay Wright was still at the helm, the ‘Cats are virtually out of the picture. They’ve also been linked to Bryce Lindsay, a four-star 2023 guard out of IMG Academy, who was recently at Villanova for an unofficial visit a few weeks ago after Neptune and his staff made the trip down to IMG. ‘Nova hasn’t officially offered him yet, but that can come at any time in the process. The transfer portal is also there. Time will tell!
Here’s the rest of the action from across the Big East for this past week:
New commitments:
- 2023 forward Donovan Santoro (Austin, Texas/Southern California Academy) committed to Providence, also had a Creighton offer.
Non-Big East commitments:
- Five-star 2023 forward Aaron Bradshaw (Rahway, N.J./Camden) committed to Kentucky. He also had offers from St. John’s, Seton Hall, Georgetown and DePaul.
- Four-star 2023 guard Darius Carr (Los Angeles, Calif./St. Bernard) committed to New Mexico State, also had offers from UConn, Xavier and St. John’s.
- Three-star 2023 center Kendrick De Luna (San Antonio, Texas/TMI Episcopal) committed to Cal State Fullerton, also had an offer from Creighton.
- Four-star 2023 forward Zayden High (Spring Branch, Texas/Compass Prep) committed to North Carolina over Villanova and other schools in his final five.
- Four-star 2023 guard Elmarko Jackson (Marlton, N.J./South Kent) picked Kansas over Villanova and other schools in his final 11 list.
- Four-star 2024 guard John Mobley Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Gorman) committed to Ohio State, also had offers from Creighton, St. John’s and Xavier.
New offers:
- Three-star 2024 forward Damarius Owens (Rochester, N.Y./Western Reserve Academy) received an offer from Xavier.
- 2023 guard Isaiah Watts (Seattle, Wash./South Kent) received an offer from Seton Hall.
Other notes:
- If you notice an error, have news of a new offer, please feel free to tip me off on Twitter at @erapay5. I’ll update accordingly.
- Shoutout to Anonymous Eagle, Casual Hoya, Banners on the Parkway, Rumble in the Garden, The UConn Blog, and VU Hoops. We unfortunately don’t have articles on all recruits, but we got some help in filling some blanks from our fellow Big East SB Nation sites. Some recruits have clickable names, which will take you to a relevant article regarding that player.
- I recommend viewing the spreadsheet externally, since you’ll be able to use things like filters (Google Sheets has that option on the top-left, next to the print button.) and Ctrl+F (Apple+F if you’re on Mac) to help make searching for recruits easier. You’ll also have a bigger screen/window to look at the spreadsheet: Big East Offer Tracker, last updated Oct. 17, 2022. Alternatively, you may view below.
