Former Villanovan, Tyrone Johnson, who transferred to South Carolina received a waiver early on Saturday granting him eligibility to play in all games this season for the Gamecocks.
Johnson played in 'Nova's 2012-13 exhibition against Carleton but saw the writing on the wall that time would be limited with the emergence of then-freshman Ryan Arcidiacono. Those minutes against the Canadian squad should have required Johnson to sit out two semesters (Spring '13 and Fall '13) before suiting up for Frank Martin's squad.
With Johnson's eligibility granted, he stepped in to the 'Cocks' lineup against Longwood. He played 24 minutes, had 2 assists and went 6-8 from the floor for 18 points.
