We still can't tell you when Villanova will play their 2013-14 men's basketball opponents — other than Syracuse (December 28) and the Battle 4 Atlantis (November 28-30) — or which of the home games will be played at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. We can, however, tell you the full slate that Villanova will play next season.
According to Monmouth University head coach King Rice, the Wildcats and Hawks will continue their series this Fall, as both schools join new conferences. As Villanova moves into the new incarnation of the Big East conference, Monmouth will be playing its inaugural season as a member of the MAAC.
Monmouth will also face the Big East's New Jersey representative, Seton Hall, as well as participating in the early rounds of the Barclays Center Classic.
Villanova has played at Monmouth University's arena twice in the series, all in the last three seasons. It will be the 10th meeting between the teams in a series where the Wildcats remain undefeated. The 'Cats dropped 106 points on the Hawks in November 2011, but they played a much closer contest in the opening round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
