It's official, Achraf Yacoubou will be transferring to St. Louis.
I'm proud to say that I'm a St.Louis Billiken we're gonna work hard and win big!!!
— Ash Yacoubou (@BoogieDownAsh) June 2, 2013
Yacoubou averaged just 12.0 minutes this past season as a sophomore, up from 10.6 as a freshman, but he didn't play many minutes in the Big East tournament and did not play at all against UNC in the NCAA Tournament.
He hit a high of 25 minutes in a December game against Penn, scoring a team high 13 points and grabbing a team high 6 rebounds, but after playing 21 minutes at Syracuse, his time began to dwindle. Ash did not play at all against Seton Hall and played single-digit minutes in all but one game after February 1st.
He averaged 2.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 39.6% from beyond the arc (but just 50% from the free-throw line) for 'Nova last season.
The Long Island native and former New York Player of the Year picked St. Louis over Pittsburgh. He'll be eligible to play in the 2014-15 season and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
