Official: Ashley Howard joins Jay Wright's Villanova Coaching Staff

USA TODAY Sports

Villanova has confirmed the addition of Ashley Howard to the Villanova Coaching Staff.

Howard has strong Philadelphia ties. He played at Drexel from 1999- 2002 and graduated in 2004. He then spent four years under Dr. John Giannini as an assistant at La Salle before taking the same position at Drexel for four seasons under Bruiser Flint. He spent a single year in Cincinnati with the Xavier Musketeers and Chris Mack.

Jay Wright noted, "We’re proud to have Ashley join our Villanova Basketball family. I have known Ashley since he was a high school player. He has deep roots in Philadelphia’s basketball tradition and gained an appreciation for the Augustinian values during his days as a student at Monsignor Bonner High School. He will take great pride in representing Villanova."

The position on the coaching staff became available when Raphael Chillious returned to the University of Washington.
