Daniel Ochefu scored a career-high for points against St. John's on Saturday, and has been working to further the Villanova Wildcats inside game. The senior big man averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds over the past week, as the team went 2-0 in its all-time debut at number one in the Associated Press poll.
Creighton's Maurice Watson was named the Player of the Week after averaging a stunning 25 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds in victories over Xavier and Marquette.

Watson Jr. averaged 25.0 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds, while leading the Bluejays to a 70-56 win over No. 5/4 Xavier and a 65-62 triumph at Marquette. Against Xavier, the junior guard posted 32 points, seven rebounds and five assists. He followed that with 18 points and 10 assists at Marquette, his third double-double of the season. In league games, Watson Jr. is sixth in the league in scoring (17.4) and first in assists (6.8).
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Henry Ellenson, Marquette, F, Fr.
Ellenson earns Freshman weekly honors for the sixth time this season, tying the fourth highest total in league history. The 6-11 forward averaged 21.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week. With 26 points and 16 boards in a 96-91 double OT win against No. 20/T17 Providence, Ellenson posted his league-leading 15th double-double. He ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.6 and first in rebounding at 10.1.

Averaged 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Had 23 points and eight rebounds in victory over St. John's.

Scored 42 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a double-overtime loss at Marquette and averaged 29.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.

In only game of the week, scored a career-high 26 points and dished 10 assists in a loss to Butler. Shot 7-of-9 from 3-point range.
