Villanova senior Josh Hart and sophomore point guard Jalen Brunson have been named by the Atlanta Tipoff Club as one of 30 players in consideration for the 2017 James A. Naismith Trophy, which is presented to the nation's most outstanding men's college basketball player.

Hart is leading the BIG EAST in scoring average with 19.2 points per game. He is also adding 6.6 rebounds (3rd in BIG EAST), and 3.4 assists (9th) for each contest this season and is one of Vegas’s favorites to win the award

Brunson is averaging 14.4 points per game while dishing out 4.2 assists per game. He is in the Top 5 of four offensive BIG EAST categories.

Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, and UCLA also have two players on the list.

The BIG EAST is also represented on the list by Creighton’s Marcus Foster.

The 10 semifinalists for the Naismith Trophy will be announced March 1, with the list being whittled down to four finalists on March 19. The winner will revealed on April 2.

Brunson, Hart, and the rest of the #2 Villanova Wildcats take on Xavier in Cincinnati on Saturday.
