It’s been a few years since the Villanova Wildcats basketball team has had to sweat it out on Selection Sunday. For the past four years, it’s been an event that’s about whether the ‘Cats will get a #1 or #2 seed, and what pod/region they’ll be sent to.
This year somehow brought even less drama, with almost every Bracketology prediction having Villanova as not only the #1 seed in the coveted East region, but the #1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament.
With that expectation - and all the success the team has already experienced - it isn’t a surprise to see a more muted reaction to the bracket reveal. Here’s the Wildcats at their annual team/fan event on campus in the Connelly Center reacting to the bracket:

Villanova will face either Mount St. Mary’s or New Orleans - the two face off in Tuesday’s ‘First Four’ - in Buffalo, N.Y. to kick off their 2017 NCAA Tournament campaign. If they can advance, they’ll face the winner of Wisconsin and Virginia Tech.
