How To Watch Villanova Basketball vs La Salle Explorers

Good to see you again Coach Ash, now experience how the rest of the Big 5 lives.

Three million one hundred forty nine thousand two hundred eighty... and counting. That’s 52,488 hours, or 2,187 days, or 312 weeks, or 71 months, or just a hair under six years. But after all that time, the longest winning streak in Big 5 history is about to come to an end.

For Ashley Howard.

Ok so technically Howard didn’t join the team until the year after the streak started, but that would have ruined my whole dramatic build up! Besides, Coach Howard isn’t with the Wildcats or the record anymore. Now he’s going to get a first hand experience of what it’s like to be one of those “other” Philly schools.

Before the season started I predicted this would be the big upset of the season for the Wildcats. But now that the Explorers are 0-7 and Villanova’s already had its biggest upset, I think it’s safe to say I may not get this call right. Still, this is a game in the Palestra. It’s a breeding ground for upsets, and not because of its history or some magical essence the building has. It’s a tiny echo chamber that will be filled with screaming fans, an opponent with nothing left to lose, and a coach that knows more about Villanova than any other Big 5 opponent ever has. Despite the betting line, there are plenty of reasons to watch.

Drink That Guarantees The Win: Mimosa

Who says mimosas are only for the morning or brunch!? Look everyone, I always put down the drink I know I’ll be having on game day and my mimosa is already chilling in the fridge. Besides, let’s look at the track record: Lane’s Drink (2-2), Brendan’s Drink (3-0). Pass the OJ, and let’s do this. Cheers Nova Nation!
