The Villanova Wildcats have announced the hiring of former player Dwayne Anderson to Director of Basketball Operations. Anderson comes over after a 5-year stint at Penn State Nittany Lions as an assistant coach under Pat Chambers.

Anderson was a star on Villanova’s 2009 Final 4 team and was part of 4 NCAA Tournaments during his career from 2005-2009, including three trips to the Sweet 16. Following his time on the Main Line, Anderson played 4 years in Europe splitting his time between Italy and Germany.

Anderson was regarded as a key recruiter on the Penn State staff, helping land key players such as Josh Reaves, Mike Watkins, Lamar Stevens, Tony Carr and Nazeer Bostick. While he won’t be in a recruiting role at Villanova - at least initially - he’s a great addition to the program going forward.

Welcome home, Dwayne!
