One of the headliners in the Villanova Wildcats’ loaded freshman class, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, was named the preseason Big East Freshman of the Year.
Robinson-Earl was a McDonald’s All-American in high school and played on the Team USA U-19 squad that won a gold medal at the FIBA World Championships in Greece this summer.
A 6-foot-8 forward from Overland Park, Kan. and IMG Academy, Robinson-Earl was consensus five-star prospect and was rated No. 15 in the Class of 2019.
As for the other major Big East preseason individual award, the Big East preseason Player of the Year, that honor went to the Seton Hall Pirates’ Myles Powell.
