Gillespie, Robinson-Earl earn preseason All-Big East first team honors; Moore tabbed second team

Three Villanova Wildcats earned preseason accolades.

Collin Gillespie and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl were both named to the preseason All-Big East first team, and Justin Moore earned preseason All-Big East second team honors.

Gillespie is the Wildcats’ top returning scorer, after averaging 15.1 points per game as a junior last season. He also averaged 3.7 boards, 4.5 assists, and 1.2 steals. He shot 40.6 percent overall and 35.7 percent from long range.

Robinson-Earl made a splash from the get go, finishing the season with Big East Freshman of the Year honors. He averaged 10.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game last season.

As for Moore, he also impressed in his freshman season, seemingly trading off Big East Freshman of the Week honors with Robinson-Earl every other week. He’s coming off of a Big East All-Freshman Team season, where he averaged 11.3 points per game and shot 41.8 percent on the floor.

The Big East named Creighton’s Marcus Zegarowski as its preseason Player of the Year and Marquette’s Dawson Garcia as its preseason Freshman of the Year.
