Rice transfer Trey Murphy III has Villanova in Final Four

Rice transfer Trey Murphy III has released the final four schools he is considering and Villanova has made the list alongside Virginia, Pitt, and Houston.

The 6’8” guard from Durham, NC averaged 13.7 points per game pacing the Owls last season. He also added 5.5. boards and shot 43.4% from the floor, including 36.8% from behind the arc.

Murphy would sit out a year and return to college basketball for two years beginning with the 2021-22 season.

Villanova also took a transfer from Rice in 2012, when Dylan Ennis came to the Main Line from the Houston school.
