Not a fun way to start off the week or the new year.

Shortly after returning from a COVID-related pause on Sunday, just under 24 hours later, the Villanova Wildcats are back on hiatus.

The team announced a new pause in basketball activity on Monday due to COVID-19 issues within the program.

As a result, the next three games are postponed: at DePaul (Tuesday), vs. Marquette (Friday), and at Xavier (Jan. 13).

This is the Wildcats’ third pause, after undergoing one during the offseason, then a more recent one following the Marquette game on Dec. 23.

Villanova is currently 8-1 overall and 3-0 in Big East play. Its next scheduled game is at UConn on Jan. 15.
