Who doesn’t like a good birthday celebration?
It appears Nike co-founder Phil Knight will be celebrating his 85th birthday with a stacked 2022 PK85 Invitational event.
Villanova is among the loaded field of 16, according to CBS Sports and College Hoops Today’s’ Jon Rothstein.

The 2022 tournament, which honors Knight’s 85th birthday, will consist of two separate eight-team tournament.
Although the brackets are far from finalized, the participating teams appear to be set.
Villanova will play alongside fellow Big East members UConn and Xavier, as well as Alabama, Duke, Florida, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Michigan State, North Carolina, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland, Portland State, Purdue, and West Virginia.
The tournament will take place in Portland, at the Moda Center and Memorial Coliseum, in November 2022.
The Phil Knight Invitational debuted in 2017, with the PK80 Invitational, to honor Knight’s 80th birthday. Michigan State defeated North Carolina to win one bracket, while Duke narrowly edged Florida in the championship match of the other bracket.
The event returned in 2019, but it was changed to a double-header format involving Oregon, Memphis, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma.
Much like the PK80, it appears the PK85 will be another big college basketball early-season tournament.
