After receiving a scholarship offer in late June, Christian Benford verbally committed a few weeks later. Now, he’s officially signed with the Wildcats.

He picked Villanova over Morgan State and other schools. Benford, a star at Randallstown (Md.), was the second to verbally commit to the ‘Cats, after kicker/punter Nathan Fondacaro.
The 6-0, 180 pound athlete played both ways for his high school team, lining up at safety and wide receiver. However, his speed, quickness, and athleticism will make him a contributor no matter the position he is put in. He also has good strength and can take down a ballcarrier one-on-one in open space.
Benford tops off a group of 12 future Wildcats to take advantage of the new Early Signing Period. A bunch that leans more towards the defensive side of the ball.
