Another 2014 commitment for Nova Football from Alessandro Padovani

The Villanova football 2014 class has expanded yet again, with a South Jersey wide receiver offering a verbal pledge.

Hammonton High School's Alessandro Padovani, a 6-2, 195-pound wide receiver-slash-defensive back has verbally committed to play for Villanova, making him the second member of the Wildcats' 2014 recruiting class. He joins Pennsylvania defensive lineman Rick Young in that group (Cornerback Mark Clements is also expected to join the 2014 class after a season at Prep school).

Padovani also had an offer from new Big South member, Monmouth University.

He has started on Hammonton's varsity team for two years, playing at Free Safety and Wide Receiver. He also participated on the baseball and basketball teams during that time and has a black belt in tae kwon do. NCSA reports a 40-yard dash time of 4.5 seconds, which would be spectacular, while he reportedly ran just a 4.7 at a Nike SPARQ combine — either time is likely good enough for a strong player to make an impact at the college level.

Academically, he has taken numerous honors-level courses at Hammonton and was inducted into the National Honor Society honor roll.
