The Villanova Wildcats might not be in a BCS conference for football, but Andy Talley's program will have bigger media reach than most at the FCS level. The CAA football conference today announced the NBC Sports Network's five games selected to be featured on their national college football broadcasts and Villanova's October 12th meeting with Towson (7pm) will be one of them.
Towson and James Madison will each be featured twice on the NBC national broadcasts. An additional 13 games will be selected by NBC for broadcast on their regional networks, including Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, SNY, CSS, and affilliates in New England, Chicago, California, Texas and elsewhere. All of those regional games will be available globally via NBC's online streaming platform, where not blacked out, and other games may be available via the CAA's own streaming platform, CAA.tv.
Villanova will also be featured on ESPN News, when they kick off the season against Boston College over Labor Day weekend. The ESPN-owned station will carry the noon kickoff on August 31st, according to their schedule. At least seven of the CAA's non-conference games will be featured on ESPN3 this Fall, according to the league's Twitter account.
