The Villanova Wildcats football team concluded their spring practice on April 12th, and Andy Talley made two important announcements following the final session until the team regroups for summer camp to prepare for the 2014 season.
Seniors Poppy Livers and Joe Sarnese were named team captains for the upcoming fall season. The wide receiver had a breakout season in 2013 and returns as the most experienced wideout. Sarnese has been a mainstay in the 'Nova secondary and is the backbone of the Wildcats' defense.

Typically, the players bringing home most improved honors are primed for a breakout season the following fall. We saw that last year when Cameron McCurry followed up a strong spring by becoming one of the top playmakers on the Villanova defense.
Calitro will push for more playing time in a loaded linebacking unit, while D'Angelo's award has to be music to Wildcats' fans ears as the offensive line is seeking to replace three starters heading into the fall season.
