OL Josh Bucci attending Washington Redskins camp

New, comments

The Villanova graduate earned his degree in engineering and will be testing himself at the Redskins rookie camp.

Villanova offensive lineman Josh Bucci has great size for the offensive line at 6'6" and 335-pounds. Surely the professional scouts took notice of that when they showed up at the Wildcat's pro-day on March 10th. The guard put up 26 reps on the benchpress and performed admirably in the workout to convince -- at least the Redskins -- that he was worth a closer look.

The undrafted rookie is in attendance for the 'Skins' rookie camp today, where he will hope to impress team coaches enough to earn himself a spot in training camp. Fellow Wildcat Darrel Young, who played on defense at 'Nova, is the starting fullback for the DC franchise.

Bucci was named to the CAA Football Conference's all-league second team as a senior, his fourth season as a starter on the offensive line. Villanova ranked eighth in the nation for rushing yards per game, credited to a strong blocking presence in the trenches. Bucci played both tackle and guard during his career at Villanova.
