The CAA has announced a football television schedule of 31 games for this Fall, including games broadcast on three conference partner networks, NBC Sports, CSN and American Sports Network (ASN). Villanova football will make it's first television appearance on August 29th on ESPN3, when the Wildcats travel to Syracuse for their first appearance at the Carrier Dome.
The Wildcats and Orange haven't contested a game on the gridiron since 1975, before the Dome was built. The 'Cats have an all-time record of one win and two losses against Syracuse, all prior to that 1975 meeting.
NBC Sports Network won't be airing any Villanova contests this season after picking up a very entertaining Villanova/Towson game last season. The Wildcats got out to a hot start, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and 38 before halftime to beat the Tigers 45-35 on national television. Despite the highly-entertaining contest, NBCSN chose to rotate its slate of four games to other teams in the league
Villanova's other four televised contests will air on either CSN or ASN, starting with their September 20th trip to Harrisonburg to take on James Madison on CSN. The 'Cats won't be aired again until November, when CAA television partners have picked up three games; Villanova at Richmond (CSN), Towson at Villanova (ASN), and UAlbany at Villanova (ASN).
New Television partner the American Sports Network has picked up nine conference football games this fall, while the Comcast SportsNet family of 11 regional networks will carry 11 CAA football games this season. All games broadcast on either ASN or CSN will be available for free online via the CAA.tv streaming video service for out-of-market viewers.
