In August of 2011, Bryan Osei committed to play football at Villanova. That verbal commitment lasted just about six weeks, as Osei decommitted from Villanova in late September in favor of the cross-town Temple Owls. After redshirting in 2012, Osei saw action - mostly on special teams - in 2013 and 2014.
Though not yet formally announced by the school, Osei appears to have transferred to Villanova for the coming season since he appears on the new 2015 roster released by the school. At 6'2" and 250 pounds, Osei played both defensive end and defensive tackle for Temple. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at Villanova and is eligible to play this coming season.
Osei is a nice boost to the defensive line group. He'll join a unit that returns defensive end starters Reggie Paris and Tanoh Kpassagnon, but loses both interior presences in Pat Williams and Jordan Hunter. A trio of sophomores in Eric Drains, Mike Williams and Ricky Young should compete for playing time, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Osei in the mix as well given his experience and versatility.
Welcome back to 'Nova Nation, Bryan!
