Will Nova land Tyler Roberson?

Villanova has been interested in 2013 forward Tyler Roberson for a while, but a good visit around Hoops Mania has the star returning some interest now as well.

Tyler Roberson is one of the top 2013 basketball prospects left on the board this fall, and he plans to change his status to "committed" on Friday (11/10) according to Brian Snow of Scout. The Roselle Catholic star had cut his list to just three schools, Villanova, Syracuse and Kansas, and cancelled an earlier-planned visit to Kentucky as well.

CBS Sports's Jeff Borzello has ranked Roberson among his top-10 uncommitted recruits for 2013. He also believes that Villanova is the most likely landing spot for him.

10. Tyler Roberson (No. 37)

  • Considering: Syracuse, Kansas, Villanova
  • Another player who plans to make a decision this week, Roberson has played close to the vest. ‘Cuse was the leader, but they Orange might have faded.
  • Prediction: Villanova

Borzello has clarified that he thinks it will be close, however, and that the Orange are right up there as well. They were certainly in the lead at one point before a late push by the 'Cats.

If the 'Cats were to beat out Syracuse to land Roberson, it would soften the sting of missing out on Austin Colbert earlier this week. He would add a great presence to the Villanova frontcourt and has the ability to be a factor in Jay Wright's 4-out offense with his perimeter skill set.
