The AAU circuit was back in action this past weekend, and both Nike and Under Armour were in Indianapolis to hold their events. This once again made it easy for head coaches to bounce back and forth to check on prospects from both circuits. Here's a quick rundown of who the coaches watched, in rough chronological order.
(Editor's note: this isn't exhaustive, just a quick scrape of Twitter. If you've got anything else give us a shout in the comments and we'll add it)
3-star SF Justin Smith
Jay started off Saturday morning watching the 6'7" wing and watched him drop 16 points (5-14 FG), 6 rebounds and 2 assists in a loss. Smith just picked up a Villanova offer last week.
4-star PG Chris Lykes & 5-star SG D.J. Harvey
Wright then moved over to watch the Team Takeover duo. Lykes finished with 17 points (6-15 FG), 5 assists and 2 rebounds while Harvey led the team with 19 points (6-12 FG), 3 assists and 2 rebounds in a loss.
5-star SF Kevin Knox
Despite not getting that in-home visit last week, Wright was courtside to watch Knox drop 24 points (8-19 FG) and 6 rebounds in a win.
4-star SF Jordan Tucker
Villanova was to watch Tucker and the RENS in a win. He dropped 19 points (5-17 FG), 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
5-star PF Mohamed Bamba, 4-star PG Quade Green, 4-star SG Brandon Randolph
Bamba went for a double-double (12, points 12 boards) and Green nearly got one (8 points, 10 assists) in front of 'Nova. Limited by foul trouble, Randolph scored 11 points. Cool nugget - Quade Green is on pace to obliterate Jalen Brunson's EYBL assist record.
'Nova was back to watch this group - which includes 2019 stud Cole Anthony - on both Saturday night and Sunday morning
5-star PG Trevon Duval
Duval dropped 16 points (4-11 FG) with 7 assists in a win for WE-R-1 in front of two 'Nova assistants.
2019 SG Bryan Antoine & 2019 SG Scottie Lewis
After migrating to UAA to check out Duval, Wright and team watched the pair that are already generating buzz as some of the best players in the Northeast. They're competing up a level on the 16U circuit and are turning heads.
4-star SF Hameir Wright
Villanova went back over to Nike to check in on Hameir Wright and watched him put up 16 points (6-16 FG) and 5 rebounds in a win.
5-star SG Lonnie Walker, 5-star SG Cameron Reddish, 3-star PF Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree
On Sunday morning 'Nova was among a hoard watching one of the most anticipated games of the weekend, pitting Team Final against PSA Cardinals. Fresh off his verbal to 'Nova DCR dropped a double-double (10 points, 13 rebounds) in a tough matchup against Bamba. Walker was spectacular as well in the win, finishing with 20 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Reddish had a tougher go, but still managed 10 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
5-star PG Jahvon Quinerly & 5-star PF Nazreon Reid
The 'Nova staff finished out the weekend going three-deep for the Sports U 'Fab Five' which features Quinerly and Reid, both of whom report offers from the 'Cats. Quinerly is a much more likely target, and the floor general continues to get rave reviews so far this spring.
